Alive. Sent.

He’s alive. Death couldn’t defeat Him, the grave couldn’t hold Him. Jesus is alive! He died so that sin would lose its power over us, and He rose so that we could have new life in Him. Praise the Lord, my Savior is more powerful than anything in this world.

This morning in church we sang songs of praise to the Lord for what He has done for us and celebrated the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen! Happy Easter!

The day is almost here…I leave Tuesday morning for the Panama mission trip! I can’t believe it is here already. I’m so excited to spend this time serving the Lord in a new way with the team He has put it place. Yajaida received her visa and will be coming with us! Our team was also blessed by a family who wanted to cover the remaining cost of the trip that wasn’t paid for by previous fundraisers and our first deposit/contribution. We’re thankful to God for providing the means for us to go. Thank you to those who gave financially to provide my cost of the trip ($200 instead of $750) as well as cover the cost of supplies for the VBS we will be doing.

Please pray for our team as we leave the DR and travel to Panama. Specific prayer requests are for Yajaida who has never flown before and is a bit scared, for safety while in country, for the hearts of the kids and youth we will be ministering to, that our team would be an encouragement to local missionaries and churches, and for my fear of speaking Spanish. I know this fear is crazy because I speak Spanish here, but it’s different with the women at LH who I know and who I know love me. One of them encouraged me this morning by telling me that I don’t need to have fear because I’m not going there to speak because I want to, but because God wants me to. Pray that this truth would be on my heart and in my mind as I speak God’s words this week. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me and give me peace. Please also be praying for April, my fellow LH intern, as she will be in the house with the ladies all week. Pray that God’s strength sustains her and that the women give her grace throughout the week.

Thank you for all your prayers and support on this journey with me, and I’m excited to share what the Lord is doing in Panama when I return. I hope that today, on Easter, you experience the power and love of Christ as you look at Him on the cross and out of the grave, risen, alive, and returning soon.

“Oh happy day, happy day, you washed my sin away. Oh happy day, happy day, I’ll never be the same. Forever I am changed.”
